Iran’s Solution to Global Warming: Nuclear Winter

The RIO+20 Conference is dedicated to “reduce poverty, advance social equity and ensure environmental protection…to get to the future we want”. What does Iran’s President, Ahmadinejad bring to this conference? What will the world look like if Iran achieves the “Islamic Awakening” it wants? What would your future look like with Iran in possession of nuclear weapons?

“…Don’t take any wrong steps, because it would have consequences that are beyond anyone’s imagination.”

– Foreign Minister, Salehi.

Iran is racing to develop a nuclear arsenal with which it could instigate or join a nuclear confrontation with the Israel, Europe and the US.

Even a localized nuclear war in the Middle East with a limited number of nuclear bombs will have a severe effect on the climate causing cold weather and reduced sunlight for a period of months or even years as large amounts of smoke and soot would be ejected into the Earth’s atmosphere and would block out much of the sun’s light from reaching the surface, causing surface temperatures to drop drastically with effects similar to the Little Ice Age in Europe  of the 17th to 19th centuries.

The darkness created by these explosions would last for weeks and even months: crops would not grow; farm animals would die from radiation poisoning as would people.

Scientists estimate that just 8 days after a nuclear attack, world temperatures would collapse with even sub-Saharan Africa and the Amazon Basin experiencing daytime temperatures that would hover around the 0 degrees Celsius mark.

Once Iran becomes a nuclear power, a nuclear winter is more probable.

Do they not know that the lives of Iran’s millions will me measured in minutes should they initiate a nuclear exchange? Only the most ignorant of fools will dare utter such a threat even if whispered. The tragedies of Nagasaki and Hiroshima pale a thousandfold in comparison to the wasteland Iran could become. Be careful what you wish for.

Did all this happen when atom bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki? A nuclear attack is no doubt the worst thing than can happen to humankind, but to say that Iran can provoke it is being a tad presumptuous. A lot of insecurity about nuclear attacks could be minimized if the West stopped their illegal proxy wars in order to control the OIL.
